20+ years in finance and operations. Eight years running a restaurant. Now building the invisible co-founder that small hospitality operators deserve — and the systems that help them be seen as the disciplined, investable businesses they are.
I spent eight years as the invisible co-founder of iSLAS Filipino BBQ & Bar — doing the finance, the permits, the payroll, the POS reconciliation, the supplier negotiations, the compliance, the events. All of it, while Marc ran the kitchen, while working full-time at Scotiabank in the early years, and while holding the emotional weight of a small business that our family had everything riding on.
That experience gave me a specific lens: I see where systems break before the people running them do. I see the fragmentation that leads to midnight spreadsheets, surprise penalties, and burnout. And I know how to design the clarity that replaces it — because I built it, imperfectly, for eight years before I had the tools to build it properly.
"The missing piece was never people or customers. It was a system that could hold everything the operator was holding in their head."
I completed the Rotman Executive Program in Generative & Agentic AI for Business in May 2026 — and I'm a CPA Ontario PREP candidate. My finance background spans Accenture (SAP FI/CO), Scotiabank, and The Daniels Corporation. All of it feeds directly into what I'm building. None of it is about getting a job. All of it is about building the system.
